§ 78-80. Noncollectible refuse.

  • Certain types of refuse shall not be collected by the public works department, but shall be removed by the applicable resident, commercial customer, contractor, or approved private hauler. These types of refuse include the following:

    (1)

    Tree trimmings shall not be collected where trees are trimmed or cut for compensation, whether the compensation be in cash or in the wood from the trees trimmed or cut, except in the case of a natural disaster.

    (2)

    Yard trimmings and debris from the original development of a lot shall not be collected. However, where the city requires the cleaning of a vacant lot by a person, whether the owner, occupant, or agent owning, holding, or occupying the property, the debris therefrom, excluding stumps, shall be collected for the applicable fee.

    (3)

    Building material waste generated whereby the construction was done for compensation shall not be collected. However, building material waste generated whereby the construction was done by the owner on the residence in which he resides shall be collected for the applicable fee.

    (4)

    Hazardous waste shall not be collected.

    (5)

    Industrial waste shall not be collected.

    (6)

    Sanitary waste shall not be collected.
